Joe DeFranco, CSP, is the Founder and President of Safety Consulting Specialists. He has over 25 years of experience in construction, industrial, and crane safety consulting and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Safety, Health, and Environmental Applied Sciences from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP).
Joe began his safety career in risk management at an insurance company in North Carolina. He later served as a Construction Site Safety Manager for a major industrial construction project and as a Corporate Safety Director for an industrial construction and crane company in Raleigh, NC.
For over 20 years, Joe has leveraged his experience to provide safety consulting, training, and expert witness services to clients nationwide. He also offers safety program development, audits, and safety and health professional placement services.
Since 2001, Joe has been a Board Certified Safety Professional (CSP). He is an OSHA 500 Outreach Trainer, an NCCCO certified crane operator and inspector, and an MSHA certified instructor. He has served as an expert witness in numerous cases and conducted OSHA and MSHA citation reviews. Additionally, Joe is a professional member of the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP).
